Re: HOW DO YOU PACKAGE YOUR CHRISTMAS GIFTS? BAGS OR BOXES WITH RIBBON BOWS?

A combination. I used to work very diligently to create beautiful packages, but now do only a few... and opt for very pretty gift bags for more gift items than used to be the case.

A tradition that's fading into oblivion. Gift bags rule! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Put in bags, no bows.

Hi, I'm really enjoying the responses. I love all the frills of Christmas. It's the one time of the year where we can be a little "gaudy" if we want and still be right in style. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

kathoderay, you're probably right, and there are some beautiful gift bags out in the marketplace. Smile

When I was in high school, I worked at Macy's for awhile, and they had me in their gift wrapping department.

I still love to wrap beautiful Christmas presents and use boxes, paper, bows, and other trinkets whenever possible. For a few oddball shaped gifts, I will use bags.

Re: HOW DO YOU PACKAGE YOUR CHRISTMAS GIFTS? BAGS OR BOXES WITH RIBBON BOWS?

Years ago when nieces and nephew were young, I created a large decorated Christmas unique for each child and adult. Bags were beautiful: if I didn't get the bag back that night, no gift next year -- of course, I provided a tote bag for them to take all their goodies home.

Nowadays, I repurpose all the beautiful Chico bags I have. First, I tape the front of a Christmas card over the "Chico" name. Wrap the gift itself in tissue paper and place a gift tag near the handles which I tie with colorful ribbons. Last touch, I hang a small bell, tree ornament or holiday pin with the ribbons.

You can buy cloth Christmas bags also. We have a bunch of them (satin red cloth)...can't remember where I got them from. They came in different sizes. I use them for odd-shaped gifts. My daughters have some too, so we only use them for family gifts to keep them in the family.

When I was in high school, I worked at a local bookstore and was the gift wrapper! Learned all kinds of fancy bows, designs etc. For years, I wrapped all the family's gits, but now, I just bag and go!! So much easier!! Love the Kringle's bags from QVC; they can be used over and over!!.

Boxes and bows! I have drawers of beautiful ribbons that I have collected over the years at the after-christmas sales. My wrapped gifts are nicer than the actual gift.

This is so me. I can wrap a gift from Dollar Tree and it looks very special. I love doing nice packages.
