Re: HISTORIC SOUTHAMPTON VICTORIAN

Many Victorians are cramped and dark.  This one is bright and open.  I like the mixture of modern and classic.

Tasteful.  And not "too much."

Re: HISTORIC SOUTHAMPTON VICTORIAN

@Oznell thank you for posting this! The outside of the home is just lovely.

The white throughout is very pretty. I especially love the dining room; for some reason, the oversize art really resonates with me and the chairs are spectacular!

So many striking elements throughout. I do wish the floors weren't quite so dark. I would immediately replace the shades in the bathroom and bedroom. They look cheap (I'm sure they are not) and out of place.

Very interesting find! I like a lot of it, but my favorite is the all of the stained glass; it's always so special to see that in homes.

Re: HISTORIC SOUTHAMPTON VICTORIAN

Love the alabaster globe light fixture.  And it reminds me of the first time I saw and loved a very similar light fixture - it was in your thread NEW YORK CONDO, FLATIRON DISTRICT that featured a project by designer Robert Passal, @Oznell .

Also, an interesting coincidence that both threads contained a photo of an alabaster globe light fixture and a mention of Truman Capote (New York condo hallway:  alabaster globe light fixture, and framed picture of Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow at a Truman Capote ball).

Re: HISTORIC SOUTHAMPTON VICTORIAN

My first impression looking at the front exterior was ..This house is going to be stuffy looking on the inside.

Boy was I wrong...I love it! The mix of classic/modern is just perfect.

There is not much I would change . I would like to warm the kitchen up a bit. I would like to compliment that stunning brick hearth.

Owning swimming pools my entire life I know too much grass around a pool is a nightmare. The grass sticks to your feet and ends up at the bottom of the pool. Looks pretty but horrible pool maintenance.

I would do brick pavers around the pool to compliment the gorgeous home.

I love the exterior, porch, patio, and pool area. I'm not a fan of the modern furnishings inside. Just not my style. I'd prefer more color inside too.

Re: HISTORIC SOUTHAMPTON VICTORIAN

Spectacular exterior, !  I do not care for the modern touch though especially in a Victorian house.  The carved newell post is an eye catcher, love the sun room.  While the rooms have space, I do not care for what they are filled with, also too much white.

Re: HISTORIC SOUTHAMPTON VICTORIAN

Exactly, @just bee ,  and @DREAMON ,  the combination of the cleaner lines of "modern",  with the more classic 19th century elements, is my favorite kind of "eclectic traditional".

@QVCisFun ,  again you amaze me with your memory and ability to pick up on those coincidences!  That is a gift.
