I think I'll be watching this for awhile today. I just don't see much else on today. I am kind of interested in all the home shows. Amazing what the costs are in these shows.
Anyone else watching today?

Hi qualitygal,
Yes, I am watching the beautiful beachfront home searches. We live at a huge sailing lake so I can certainly understand the desire these homeowners have to share the water.

HGTV used to be my "go-to" station. However, I really don't enjoy Love It or List It and it seems like that's on so much these days that I rarely even watch that channel these days. I used to love House Hunters International and some of the other shows.

It's only worth watching if you haven't already seen the shows 3 or 4 times already. And I am totally fed up with the Property Brothers being on all the time, either with that show, or Buying and Selling, which features them again, and now a new show coming called Brother vs. Brother. I fail to understand the appeal of these two, and having them on for 8, 10, or 12 hours a day is just ludicrous. There are almost no design shows on now, or just reruns of shows several years old. What ever happened to this network?? Love it or List it and it's sequel are another mystery to me. Why the same shows over and over?? They must be on a tight budget or have management with no imagination.

ITA with everyone--It WAS a go to channel for me---but it appears it's turned into "real estate showcase"....and Love it or List it or Property Brothers --- or location shows---ZZZZZ Hardly ever watch anymore, except for an occasional House Hunters International--
-I really miss the decorating shows---they have stuff on their website but if they want me to WATCH THEIR CHANNEL put this type of show on the air!
I do enjoy the PBS Classic Channel called CREATE it has arts and craft shows, sewing, and some interesting cooking shows that involve normal recipes and ingredients....

I don't watch HGTV for a variety of reasons. I've been tuned into EWTN all day.

I live in the Northern Va/DC Area. When I go to the Drs these shows are always on. I am amazed at the prices of these small houses in other places across the country. Other than parts of California and Hawaii, the Northern Va area is supposed to be one of the most expensive areas.
I cannot believe what people pay for some of these dumps I see on TV. I saw couples competing for houses that are a little over $1 million dollars.
The house behind me is a mini-mansion! It sits on 6 acres and is maybe 25 minutes from Washington, DC. It is 10 minutes from 2 major cross country highways (you can go anywhere). We are about 2 or 2 1/2 hours from several beaches. A few more hours for many other beaches.
That house would sell for $900,000 to maybe a little over $1 million and you wouldn't believe it. Why do these people pay that kind of money for these houses that are over priced?
They are insane. I sit there (in the Dr's office) and people around me just shake our heads and all agree....these TV people are crazy!!
