@PA Mom-mom  I entered the sweepstakes a few years ago as well. I lost interest though because the homes &/or the locations didn't appeal to me.  Even the money didn't seem to be worth the hassle.  I still like to see what they come up with every year though.  I wonder how many winners actually still live in the homes that they won.

I don't dislike it; I actually kind of like it.  But it wouldn't be my dream home.

I've read the "open concept" kitchen is on its way out.  This house is too cold and stark for me.  The details are definitely unusual.  I wonder how many winners have held on to their houses.  I think most have taken the cash instead.

This article states that most winners can't afford to take the hit financially and end up selling the property (at a loss) or taking the cash option upon winning.  Food for thought.

I find the colors used in this house depressing.  I like open and airy rooms, but this has a little too much openness for me, making it seem cold.  I prefer something a little cozier.

I like the idea of being in a wooded area but not too far from "civilization". The views look spectacular. I don't like that the house looks like a bunch of separate pieces were stuck together. The 2 bedrooms are ok. I don't care for the kitchen or living room. Neither look cozy, comfortable, or inviting to me. I like green, but I'm not loving the green wall colors. I don't think the open concept will ever go out of style, but I do think there will also be new-builds with closed off rooms as an option too.  I have loved the open concept since way before it became "a thing", and I don't think I'm alone in that preference.  But I do understand people who say they don't want guests to see the mess in the kitchen, the house is loud (it can be!), I can't decorate a space separately, etc...

Stuff changes; and that's a good thing.

If I won it (fat chance)  I would put that puppy up for sale in a heartbeat!  Don't like it at all.
