to do green...you need a large room...high ceilings...otherwise it is too overpowering

All of that green is a little too over powering for me.

I like the green wall and the fireplace, that's about it for me.

A little too much going on, a little bit random. Oddly, not restful. I like the fireplace, and always like a vintage cane chair.

I like the hardwood floor and the fireplace. The wall is too dark and the room looks cluttered to me.

LOL @stevieb I like the Morrocan rug and the coffee table. I do agree that the green is a bit dark but what on earth on those things in front of the fireplace???

Green & blue are fave colors. Interesting room.

In my useless opinion (LOL) the house has good bones, and somewhat traditional/elegant style. The fireplace, the crown moulding, the dark wood floor.....all speak to an older home (I know it may not be, but that is what the elements remind me of), a more traditional style of home.
The contents of the room do not.
I don't deal well if I feel there is too much variation between the style/age of the home, and the contents in it, for the most part.

I can't stop staring at the lamp to the right of the fireplace (and not staring in an admiring way).
I feel as though the intent was to have a comforable/serene room. But for me, it has too much going on and makes me feel more anxious than relaxed.

@LindaSal It's a fireplace fender and while they come in different versions, some, like this one and the one below, have small padded areas for folks to sit briefly by the fire to warm up. Many do not sit up as high, are not there for seating and are more decorative than anything else.
