Re: Green Sitting Room Vignette...

I agree about the coffee table and the rug  not adding anything to the room but instead taking away.  I would replace both and also change some decor on the mantle.

Re: Green Sitting Room Vignette...

I don't like the color green unless it's grass, trees or plants so that lets out the wall color.  While it's not a room that I would choose to live with at least it looks real. Not perfection by some high end decorator with unlimited funds. I love to decorate my home with things I enjoy and rotate what many would call "clutter" but I call treasures so it won't be overwhelming.

No rules, just warm and welcoming with decor that I think looks good together.

I feel this room is done well. It almost looks like the runner on the coffee table was the inspiration.  It's not cookie cutter and someone was not afraid of color.  While it may be too busy for some, I think whoever did this has a flair for combining color and doing it tastefully.

The wall display is very nice.  That color green along with the pics w/ the coral color border really pops.  The white fireplace & cabinet go nicely with it as well.

As for the furnishings & accessories, other than the rattan chair, from what I see, I don't care for it.

Re: Green Sitting Room Vignette...

I find this too visually stimulating which makes me anxious. I love green but I wouldn't want walls that color. There is also too much stuff and nothing plays into the other things, Rather it's jarring but that is often the modern style. Just too busy.  I did two bathrooms in a green toned cream color, meaning a green undertone. Love that, it's soothing and not bland. It looks fantastic in the bathroom that had too much gray tile from the previous owners. Toned down the cheap looking gray tile and made it actually pop. LOL,

@spiderw  Completely agree with you. Don't care for any of the above and the mantel could really shine with a nicer array of obejcts.

I hate that shade of green on the walls.

@vermint

Same here.

I could work with the wall color, fireplace, and floors, but all the furniture & accessories would need to go.

The room has nice bones, and I like the fireplace and the wall color, but I do NOT like the furniture, the lamps, or the rug and there's too much clutter....
