From Michael's for 59 bucks!  Prelit, 7 foot cashmere slim tree with over 200 lights.  I'm happy!  I refuse to pay big bucks for a tree cuz none of them last.  If this one bites the dust, it's a small loss.  The last one I had from Michael's, also a 7ft prelit slim lasted 5 years and I think I paid 39$ for that one.  I think I might put it up early. It's so pretty.

Now I need a door wreath.  They will have more sales closer to xmas.

[ Edited ]

I love bargains like that.  The tree I now use I got at Menards and I love it.  I've had the expensive trees and just was way too big for me and went to a slimmer style and glad I did.  So easy to put up and take down.

I'm not ready to decorate yet but I did wrap a bunch of stuff yesterday.  I had the day off and after lunch with  my friend I wrapped because it rained most of the day.  It was the perfect day for that and I enjoyed it.

Enjoy your new tree.

Love the slim tree!  Easier to fit into a room or corner.

Re: Got a New Christmas Tree

I bought a new Christmas tree this year as well. Purchased a 7 1/2 foot Slimline with 350 lights from Home Depot. Paid 89.00 and also bought the storage bag for 13.00-well worth it to me.

Our last Christmas tree, we had for over 17 years, it was a full size 7 1/2 footer, and it did last quite a nice long time for us.

I went with a Slimline this time around in case we decide to downsize in the next few years..

I haven't put it up yet, but probably will the week of November 21st...

We will be gone Thanksgiving week, so definitely want it up before we leave....

@bmorechick

I have this tree too and I really like it. I bought it maybe 2 years ago and it's great! I love pencil trees because they don't take up much room and you still get the wow.

Walmart also has great trees for great prices. I have a 6' rose gold metallic pencil tree. It looks like this and I think I only spent around $40, I can't remember exactly but it was dirt cheap and looks great.

@GingerHead   Ohhh I may have to look for that!  I love a metallic tree.  I can put it in a corner of my kitchen and not put ornaments on it since it's so sparkly!

I highly recommend it and you know about the ornaments. For the past couple of years I've not put any ornaments on my trees because I just prefer the simplicity of just the lights. It's just a more natural (in nature look), simple, clean and elegant. As I've gotten older I just find I like more space/simplicity in my surroundings....kinda like more breathing room. haha

Re: Got a New Christmas Tree

@GingerHead   Yes...I've gone that way too.  I have  also ditched all the heavy, dark antique furniture and totally opened up spaces with no curtains, light color furniture and some stuff I just did not replace.  I revolve around light grey, white, and all the lighter colors at this point.

I am not sure if I will leave my cashmere tree bare, but I'm thinking about it...those ornaments have become a chore to haul down from rafters.
