You mean I could've gotten one free from you?! Drat!
Do you think you would've kept them if you could've painted them in that pretty aqua green (or other) color?
And of course you have refinishing skills, it's easy with chalk paint. You just clean the surface (most any finish, including oil based stain, may need priming first) and then just slap the chalk paint on. Super easy!
You should try it some time, also Home Depot and Lowes sale chalk paint now.
@GingerHead I found a beautiful half moon headboard (no foot board though) and chalk painted it Antibes Green (added a bit of Original to lighten it up).
It's not as ornate as the one posted, but close.
I found a dresser in almost the same 'lines' and did that also to make a set for her room here.
I love to chalk paint. I use Annie's and only Annie's.
Oh that sounds beautiful!
I actually have an inspiration picture of Anne Sloan's bed saved in my Pinterest that she painted in that pretty green color you used (picture below). I love that pop of color and I think lightening it up with white would be even better.
Ohhh, I'd love to see a picture of yours!
Anne Sloan has beautiful paint, she's the OG of the chalk paint world. But just fyi you can get copies of any of her colors mixed up at HomeDepot using their paint and I find it just as good and it's cheaper.
@GingerHead I chalk paint everything!
I bought a beautiful French Country dining table and the Ivory color was a little too 'stark' for the room. So I just chalk painted in right before Thanksgiving.
I switch things up as people are pulling up--I swear, it's addicting!

HaHa, that's great. I do that too, I'm always painting things.
What color did you paint your dining table?
It's crazy how easy it is to use, you can just paint things in place, no need to move out into the garage, sanding (I hate sanding)....no real prep and the finish wears like iron.
Best invention ever!

I painted it 'Pure' which is a warmer ivory. The dining chairs were already painted that color. The table was new, not the chairs.
The original table is at my Dad's and I painted that French Linen.
When his house was sold, there was a beautiful nightstand in their bedroom. But it had a scratch/scuff on the top of it. There was no way I was going to sand and re-finish.
I painted a mix of Emporer's Silk (firecracker red!) and bit of Capri Pink (hot pink). Came out beautifully. It's now in hallway to my dining room. And when the morning sun comes up, it makes the whole room G-L-O-W.

If you can find the head and footboards you like the shap of, there's several sites which carry the scrolling and you can glue them on. Then chalk paint to your desire.
I believe Restoration hardware may be one.

Nice, I love a pretty ivory colored french dining table. So elegant.
Also, that pop of red mixed with hot pink side table sounds beautiful! I love a pop of color.

oooh, Thanks. Good idea!
I've actually seen those flexible or non flexible wood applique add-on mouldings on Amazon.
I didn't think of that....

If they're made of wood they may not be flexible. However, if they're made of faux wood or whatever composite they're made from, you can warm them up to fit into your headboard spacing.

I see what you're talking about. My mind gears are working now, thanks! Great idea.
Here's a pic of one of my latest chalk paint and decoupage (using a bird napkin) creations and it's actually similar to that green we were discussing above, although the actual paint is called Frog (I think?) HomeDepot chalk paint

No sanding, just painted over all that mess:

We have an original Eastman full size bed with 2 dressers from the early 1900's. Would love to do tnis. I think my husband would keel over, seriously! Old furniture is only worth something if someone wants to buy it. Otherwise, it gets donated.
