Not in my world--I have 2 beautiful cream colored ginger jar lamps that have chrysanthemums in a raised detail that my Mom bought years ago--I just change the shade out every few years for a fresh look---they are in the bedroom as night stand lamps------lovely.

@wagirl   They sound lovely and what a great idea to change the shades occasionally.

I see them in magazine photos quite often, so they are still popular decor.

Are ginger jars out of fashion? Particularly the blue and white ones?

No, these jars are timeless.

I always viewed them as timeless.  I have a beautiful blue and white one in my dining room that I've had for over 30 years.  It stands beside a blue and white sake set that was a gift from my BIL.

The blue and white ones that are chinoiserie are classic and always in style. I have not seen any chinoiserie in Valerie’s collection.
