Re: Gifts from Santa -- Wrapped or Unwrapped?

Santa never wrapped gifts when i was a child.

When my children were growing up, they each had a large fabric Xmas bag with their name on it. Every Xmas Sants would put unwrapped gifts in each child bag. On Xmas morning, they opened the bag and dumped everything out screaming with delight.

Gifts from Mom and Dad were wrapped.

All gifts were wrapped with the same paper and nothing was put under the tree until everyone went to bed on Christmas eve.

Gifts were always wrapped when I was a kid - except when not possible because it was a bike or some such thing.

Gifts are still wrapped. Even the ones in stockings.

All gifts were from Santa, not Mom and Dad, and beautifully wrapped. We have the same tradition for our children. When relatives bring goodies for the kids, those gifts are from them.

Re: Gifts from Santa -- Wrapped or Unwrapped?

We always wrapped the Santa presents in red tissue paper and kept them hidden til Christmas morning. And the wrapping was pretty haphazard since the elves were so busy! But they were wrapped! The other presents were wrapped with lots of care, all in seasonal gift wrap and under the tree for quite a while. The Santa presents were put out after the kids went to bed on Christmas Eve. It just made things a little more special, and that bright red paper was always the first to be torn off!

And if there was ever anything that said "some assembly required", Santa always attached a note to save that present's assembly until Grandpa came over! Saved my husband a lot of stress and Grandpa loved it! lol

Good memories!

Re: Gifts from Santa -- Wrapped or Unwrapped?

When my kids were young I let them pick out their own giftwrap. That way their presents were not wrapped in the same wrap as the gifts from family. We would put the rolls out for Santa to wrap. Of course there were extra cookies for Santa since it took longer for him to wrap their presents. Worked well for years.

Uh,Santa wrapped our gifts...in whaaat? Santa Clause paper of course!! Lol. Our parents gave us their gifts from them on Christmas Eve. Poor Santa wrapped so much Barbie stuff for me over the years.....that's pretty much all I ever wanted or got. Barbies and books. This is a fun thread.

Re: Gifts from Santa -- Wrapped or Unwrapped?

Our gifts from Santa were always wrapped unless the present was something big like a bicycle.

DH said his presents from Santa were not wrapped.

Re: Gifts from Santa -- Wrapped or Unwrapped?

Santa presents were unwrapped when I was growing up and same for my kids now. DH parents wrapped santa's gifts and all the gifts under the tree were from Santa. He hates wrapping and like my non-wrapping better.

So my kids get unwrapped Santa gifts and wrapped gifts from everyone else until they go the grandma's and for some reason Santa wraps gifts there....needless to say so far only the youngest (she was 4 last year) has figured out Santa does not leave gifts there. Since my mother is not a wrapper, she is able to pass off Santa gifts {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Re: Gifts from Santa -- Wrapped or Unwrapped?

I've never heard of the tradition of putting unwrapped gifts under the tree from Santa! Never! How disappointing for the children to already see all of the gifts that they got! I think it gives the child more excitement and wonder seeing all the wrapped gifts and them trying to guess whats inside. Wrap the gifts!
