This is the first house I ever lived in (always lived in Apts.) and our stove, which is KitchenAid Gas stove is now on the fritz and we have to buy a new one. My DH is not in the best of health so I am on my own here. My question is, do I call a plumber, electrician or what? I am petrified as it is gas and I don't know who would install a stove/oven. Any help would be appreciated.

Your local gas company can install it for you. Best of luck to you and your husband.

@lovesallanimals - If you buy from a big box store, like Lowes or Home Depot (or sometimes local furniture stores that also sell appliances), they typically have options for hauling away your old stove and installing the new one. It may cost extra, but in my experience, it's nice to have the same crew come in and get everything done in one day. Good luck!

@lovesallanimals. When you buy your stove, the store should arrange for delivery and installation. Have you looked at features that are available and decided what you want and need? Measure your old stove and make sure the new one will fit the space. The store should also haul off your old stove.

HI. Not sure where you live. Also not sure if you are in need of repair service instead.
If you want to purchase, look on-line for stores in your area that sell home improvement products and appliances. Here in Illinois, ABT appliances are the place to go. Not sure if they have nationwide branches. Also, try Home Depot or Loews Home Improvement.
If you want repair, look up and contact Kitchen Aid for their recommended repair services.
Hope this helps a little.

How old is your gas stove? Do you know what's wrong with it?
Maybe call an appliance repair company. Call the toll-free number for KitchenAid. They can tell you a recommended repair company in your area.
If you are told you need a new stove the appliance store where you would buy it will install it and remove the old one.
In the mean time there's always the microwave and toaster oven, if you have one.

Any time we have ever purchased a new appliance, the company we purchased from has delivered, installed, and taken away the old one. Home Depot and Lowe’s do for sure. There may have been an small additional fee, but well worth it, knowing it was installed correctly.

I buy my appliances at a small local store, they deliver & install for free but there is a small charge for taking the old appliance if you want to get rid of it. The same service is available at the big box stores, just ask what's included with your purchase & what you'll need to pay for...don't stress about the installation, picking the right stove is the challenging part. Good Luck.

Where I am the retailers don't usually install a gas stove. We've had gas from the beginning when we built the house. We had our local fuel supplier do the fitting (by law they have to be licensed). So, when we replaced our old stove with the new one, the retailer coordinated with our gas fitter to deliver the new stove and have it connected.
The retailer then took away the old one. We didn't have to do anything other than stay out of the way.
If you're buying from an independent appliance retailer, other than the big box stores, ask them for their recommendations. You definitely don't need a plumber and you shouldn't have any reason to need an electrician. (Our stove is the only gas appliance in our house, so it works from a propane tank outside, with a line into the house.)
Please let us know how you get on.

What is wrong with your current stove? There are very few parts and fixing it may be a cheaper option. My DH has fixed our stoves a few times for little $$ (parts)
We replaced our old stove with one from Costco. They delivered, installed and took our old one away for free.
