My weakness is for pretty, liveable, yet individualistic living rooms, not always easy to find online. I miss getting my "gawking" fix from the really good newstand interior design magazines, most of which have priced themselves out of my range.
"Laurel Bern Home" is the site of an interior designer who has posted tons and tons of pretty rooms from all over, and by all kinds of designers, mostly traditional or transitional. If you go there and just search "living rooms", she has many articles, lavishly spangled with photographs, to illustrate her various points.
This Manhattan living room got a lot of attention, even though it boldly breaks "rules", like a TV smack in front of art work! (I'm assuming the constraints of space in a Manhattan apartment were responsible for this.)
Which brings up a query-- if there is one thing like this that you really dislike, does your overall reaction to the room allow you to forgive that one deal-breaker for you?
And little hits of red around the room are not my particular thing either.
Yet, there's something about the room though-- it seems so warm, lively and inviting to me. I'd definitely plunk down on that poofy couch after battling the 'mean streets' of NYC!
Just a few more of the disparate mix of rooms she finds.
I think she said this chap is a designer who creates his own art work-- right in his living room!
If you like to browse traditional houses and timeless or quirky rooms, Laurel Bern Home is a good site. It's a dangerous rabbit hole for me to go down however-- I must set a timer, and stick to it!

All different and unique. Some not my style but still well put together. I can get lost at this site also @Oznell

I have "a soft spot in my heart" for this little nook! I love the look of stacks of books, the hats. Looks like home!

Another one with books AND animal prints!

Very pretty rooms @Oznell . I love the mirror over the fireplace in the second picture (the room with red accents).
I've gone to that website before and enjoyed looking around.

My issue with this room is that the table, the arm of the chair (missing a cushion) and rug are going to be damaged with the sun coming in that window.

@Oznell Some far more than others, but I find something to like about almost (but not quite) all of these rooms. As for the TV in front of the art work, it's easy to overcome. What's less easy to comprehend is how anyone could actually watch the TV. There wouldn't appear to be a single seating piece facing it.

@Oznell Each room is so inviting and comfortable looking in its own way and the furnishigs loo genuine, as though they were put together with no sophisticated plan

I like most of the rooms but this one is my favorite. The TV does look out of place..I think I would have to find another spot for it.
I am not a fan of red but it doesn't bother me here. If it were my home I would probably change the red accents to black but I could easily live with this room as is.
