Trina Penney is a Canadian who now resides in Woodstock, Georgia.
She has decorated her new house in a clean, comfortable style. She thinks of it as both modern, and with a classic twist as well. She has a little hint of "cottage" too.
She loves her door, and so do I. She painted it in "Clary Sage", by Sherwin Williams.
Beautiful hardware, and she added a nostalgic glass knob:
It's a relaxed, welcoming entry way--
At first, she couldn't stand the old stone fireplace-- now, she embraces it.
The very comfortable sectional accommodates her family, esp. for watching TV on the wall out of sight on the left. She went with off-white "Swiss Coffee" on most walls for consistency in the open first floor.
The house has a carefree, but restrained, not overly "decorated' air-- but a lot is in the details, like the good looking, subtle texture of crosshatching fabric in the couch--
Bow-tied "Walter" is the cutest accessory ever. I like that she tells you her sources- the bold wood coffee table is from Sixpenny, and it's a very nice furniture store to browse online, indeed.
Her verdigris urns are an elegant touch to the sofa table.
Love the barrel ceiling. She's like me, in that she prefers minimal window treatments, so hers are attractive, linen-y motorized shades. They allow the appealing window trim to be fully exposed.
The huge, nostalgic arch way into the kitchen was one of the architectural details that drew her to the house--
Handsome dining table--
She designed the marble backsplash so it would "swoop" or curve up to the hood, another graceful touch. The flanking sconces are perfect.
A cottage hint again in the delicate cafe curtains. Although the walls are still Swiss Coffee, she wanted the cabinets to be a little creamier contrast, so they are "Natural Cream" by Benjamin Moore.
She relocated the main fridge into this nook, so it's not so visible to living room, and there's room for two supplementary fridges opposite--
She does like the marble she picked, but concedes that her kids are hard on it! There's that arch behind her, that is cleverly repeated in various curving elements throughout the house.
I like the bowl for her Kitchenaid, the faux wood is striking! Does the rest of it look olive colored to you? Neat.
The nearby powder room has charming beadboard, installed by her husband, and cafe curtains with another delicate floral. I think she said the paint color in here is "Smokey Taupe".
Spacious master, in its winter dressing of deep burgundy quilt and pillows. Another curve in the upholstered headboard--
The rug is cozy too.
Walter approves.
Her first time with a roomy walk-in closet. And her handy husband installed Ikea units and then beefed them up to look substantial. Chandelier and gilt French mirror make it a fun retreat.
Sorry I couldn't find more exterior shots. The stone outside, roofline, the windows, door and window box, further a slight fairy tale feeling--

Love the doors, love the kitchen sink and of course.....the dog! There is something that I don't care for with the house, not sure what it is but it is not one in which I would care to live, just makes me uncomfortable.

I do like the exterior of the house and also the rooms which have a lot of space. However, I would add color on the walls and also the furnishings. It is nice for those who prefer less color and a more modern look but for me I would make changes. I do love the windows, the stone fireplace and the barrel ceiling . For my taste I would add color and new furnishings. However, it is always enjoyable to see different designs in homes.

Appealing build with really nice rooms, some appealing fixed features and a decent kitchen. Too bad about most of the decor.

The house is an interesting, unconventional architectural style which fits in well in the country. She'll rue that front door when it has to be repainted but its very interesting and attractive.
I like her decorating style, although there are a few things I'd change. It's basically similar to that with which I live every day but more modestly.

I love it all ...

I love the exterior of this house and also the interior.
I am not sure about the furniture. I don't care for the chairs in the living room or the dining chairs....and yes the Kitchen Aid Mixer looks olive green to me too. I love the wooden bowl.

It's a nice enough house, but too much white for me. I like color on my walls.

Omygosh.....such an idyllic little house heinously furnished and decorated with contents completely at odds with the building's storybook character!
I wasn't surprised that she didn't like the stone fireplace because she obviously hates the whole house.
That decor belongs in one of those California glass box houses.

The exterior of the home is very appealing. The bones of the house are good but the furniture and decorating are not special at all.
