I just posted this in "Q Did What:"

With my iPad (3rd generation, iOS 7.1), the Community forums open at the usual speed. But it takes 15 to 25 seconds for a thread to open or to submit a post. I don't see any error messages.

On my iMac (OS X 10.9.2), everything is the usual speed (pages load in 2 to 3 seconds). Same results with Firefox (v. 27.0.1), Safari (v. 7.0.2), and Chrome (v. 33.0.1750.149). I also haven't seen the "long running script" (which is an Internet Explorer message you can disable if you choose to) or "waiting for d.monetate.net."

Are most of you using Internet Explorer or an iPad when you see the slowdown and/or error messages?

I sent a report of this to QVC's website support.* I also complained about the total lack of communication between their customers and the website support staff. I think they need to establish a separate blog or forum for reports of site problems, with regular interaction by their IT staff.

*(If you want to report directly to their website staff, click "Customer Service" in the upper right corner of this page, choose "Click here to send us an email" and then choose "Using QVC.com, also click "Yes" for "Would you like a reply.")

I always use firefox, I don't do internet explorer and haven't for years.

I just wanted to add that I have recommended firefox to several friends who were having problems with slow uploads and they are happy with firefox.

Re: Forum threads taking forever to load

I'm with you, moxie. I don't use IE and I'm beginning to think most of the issues here involve either IE (on any device) or the iPad. However, since QVC isn't acknowledging the problems we're all left in the dark.

LOL, Mallemo.....once again you crack me up. I'm about ready to jump over that edge with you. Yes, SHoppr...I completely agree with you and everyone else. Now no matter what browser I use....the wheel just spins and spins and spins. OY....I'm ready to pull my hair out. Why can't they fix this blasted board. It's taken me hours to get to the Home Forum.

Hi Bobby K,

I'm ready to go over the edge with you and mallemo, don't want to pull my hair out. Seems I am loosing it fast enough as it is, don't think I would look good bald.

Edited to say: Maybe they are hoping we will all just get tired of it and leave. Would sure make their job easier, a lot less poofing{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Forum threads taking forever to load

The computer I have been using had IE for the brower. So when these delays started here on the Home Forum I switched to Google Chrome. Still did not help the delays. So then I decided to try what moxie suggested and I downloaded Firefox. I will have to say it's much better.

Hello JPC,

Oh my...we can all jump over that edge together. It's been almost impossible for me to log on to the forum. That spinning wheel comes up for me on IE and Firefox. It is crazy that some are not having problems and others are. So it seems like we can all be frustrated together. This just started happening a few days ago and has progressively gotten worse. Nothing loads and when it does...the wheel spins forever and ever.

OH JPC, I thought of you the other day when I received my JS basket with the critter eggs. Hubby helped me unpack it. Its a beautiful basket ...beautiful detail and the critter eggs are darling. But oh good grief is it heavy ! We are going to be in big trouble come July. I'm purchasing his Frozen pieces and I know you and MTH are going to get yourselves in big trouble too. I think my hubby is ready for me to send my money and my computer to you {#emotions_dlg.laugh}.

You and Mr. Crazy have a really nice weekend....JPC, my friend.

Re: Forum threads taking forever to load

So glad you are happy with your basket Bobby K. I have several of his baskets and they are so detailed. I love the critters in this one but didn't order it. You enjoy your basket. Just don't go dropping it on your toes, would hate to see you hurt the basket.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I haven't waited till July to get myself in trouble. I preordered but guess they won't go on my bill till June or July so I am okay till then.

The forums are very annoying and hopefully they will get the problem fixed soon.

Re: Forum threads taking forever to load

Hi Bobby K: I'm so glad you love your new JS basket. I have only one of his baskets which I got years ago but I still love it and it is always the centerpiece of my Easter decorations. You are definitely correct in that JPC and I will be in trouble come July although, like JPC, I have already pre-ordered the new pieces that I want to add to my collection. I think JCP has the best job around (treasurer of the JS "Enabling Club" and locking down computers from those of us shopping too much). It's a sick addiction, but lots of fun.

Hope you enjoy your new basket and have fun decorating for Spring.
