Hello! While I am not new to QVC, I am somewhat new to the forum and really don't post much. However, yesterday, someone inquired about a discount code for Kohl's and since I happened to have the one they were looking for, I posted the code. My reply was deleted and then the whole thread was deleted. Was this thread a "no-no"?? If it was, I'm not quite sure I understand the logic as there are numerous posts regarding other stores, etc. and where one can get other products, etc.
Can someone enlighten me as to what my transgression was (and why this thread was deleted) so that I can be sure to not do it again? Thank you so much!

Most likely, it was the coupon code that violated the rules. As you can see, discussions about other retailers and non-QVC products is allowed. But posting coupon codes seems to be the deal-breaker. Maybe another poster can give you more detailed info.

It was probably this one, although there is no rhyme or reason to how this gets enforced.
Use of these public areas for commercial purposes is prohibited. Do not use any Community features (including, but not limited to, video, forums, reviews, images, and profiles) to solicit funds, advertise, or solicit goods or services, or post third-party promotional material. Only use these public areas and Community features for non-commercial purposes.
Here are the standards:

Yes, lola just gave you a much more detailed response. I think that your violation might pertain to the text I bolded above.

Hi, ShellBell, and welcome!![]()
You can click on the word "Standards" in the upper right corner of any of the community pages to read the standards for participation. The one in question most likely is this one:
"Use of these public areas for commercial purposes is prohibited. Do not use any Community features (including, but not limited to, video, forums, reviews, images, and profiles) to solicit funds, advertise, or solicit goods or services, or post third-party promotional material. Only use these public areas and Community features for non-commercial purposes."
Since QVC owns and operates the forums, it follows that they don't allow free advertising for other commercial enterprises.
hth!

You will find that the "rules" here are arbitrarily enforced. Sometimes something is allowed and sometimes, that same thing gets another thread taken down. There often seems no rhyme or reason as to how and why things go/stay.
I've seen people post coupon codes on here lots.

They always poof coupon codes. You can say that you got a really cute cardigan from Walmart, and that's fine, but coupon codes are a total no-no. It's just one of their little mysteries.

You're right, the standards are arbitrarily enforced. I think part of it is the fact that this is a community that's open 24/7 so they have to have numerous different moderators who each will subjectively enforce the policies. I have seen posters mention being banned for offering coupon codes, so it's probably a good idea to be cautious.

Arbitrary is the word to describe moderation of these forums. Sometimes, a thread will be deleted just for mentioning another store or site. I had a thread deleted recently that talked about a product I found that would work well with some QVC products, but that wasn't sold by QVC. I just shrug my shoulders and go on. It's frustrating sometimes, though, trying to figure out what will or won't get a post or thread removed.
