Re: Formal and Informal Dining Areas...

I just wish I could get my husband to eat at the dinner table instead of use it as a "drop-off" station for his boat parts.  It's just not worth the struggle.  He does at least clean it off on the day our housekeeper cleans the house.

Re: Formal and Informal Dining Areas...

There are things about both I like and things about both I'd change. For example, I don't like the ceiling light in the more formal room at all. Were I having to choose one room of the other, I'd probably opt for the second.

I really don't care for either one. I can't put my finger on why...but they both seem a little dated to my eyes.

Both rooms are attractive.  Love the restful colors as well.

Thanks!

Both are too formal for my tastes.

Re: Formal and Informal Dining Areas...

They both appear formal to me although the second one is less formal.  Neither dining room appeals to me but I prefer the oveall  look of the first one.  I do like that the chairs in the second one has arms.

I prefer the first one. The table is beautiful. I also like the cabinet on the wall. Not crazy about the chairs or chandelier. There's not anything that really appeals to me in the second one.
