For those of you who enjoy Christmas programming at Q....

are you 'done' with the home decor shows for the most part yet?

I'm finding that last year, and now this one (so far) the bulk of the exciting and tempting (to me) home decor stuff is done during Christmas in July. Everything after is kind of flat for me.

Yes, I have seen new things this past weekend, but they just don't thrill me, and there is a lot of repeats of the same things over and over from here on out for the seasonal stuff.

Anyone else think they kind of peak their Christmas decor offerings during July, and leave us wanting the rest of the season?

disclaimer: not that I need another thing, or am looking to buy anything, but would love to be excited about what is coming.

Once I see those "white, wonderland" things from Jill's shows, I will be done. Of course aside from anything else I may find in stores. I love shopping HL, Gordman's, etc when the holiday stuff comes out.

I really don't pay much attention to holiday decorating shows.  I have way too much stuff as it is.  I try to keep my decorating simple and I don't need to have every nook and cranny filled with stuff.  I usually decorate with pointsettias and greens, then I just throw it away after Christmas.

I am still interested. I am taping Jill's upcoming Holiday shows (Oct 9th) mini series. I do miss Lisa Robertson's Christmas shows as I picked up quite alot of her items last year. I still buy Valerie items year round and just bought some Valerie items over the weekend. I usually add a few pieces every year. I love to decorate but want something unique as well.

Re: For those of you who enjoy Christmas programming at Q....

I LOVE the Christmas decorating shows!  I'm less enthused with the Christmas in July shows because those seem to be retreads of items they are trying to get rid of from years past.  In my opinion, they could get rid of those July shows and just post on their .com site that the holiday items are now all available and on 3+ EP, and not do the shows at all.  But once [a little in September] October & November roll around, YES I'm onboard.  I buy some, but I get ideas more.  That's the real charge for me.  It's like perusing Christmas decorating catalogs and getting new ways to decorate or use things I may already have [or can get for less money], without having the environmental waste of throwing away all those actual catalogs.

@KellKats  Kel, us hard core Christmas people are never 'done'.  Remember the after Christmas sales and the Q 'as is'  that we can't pass up.  There's always that last one, again and again.  LOL

@lucymo isn't that the truth?? I swear it really is a sickness... I will say "oh I am not buying more things this year" and those stores just draw you right in with their displays and all brand new items! Same with CIJ this year.... I thought I am not buying much of anything... well all the enablers on here helped me with that!! LOL I ended up buying enough, not too bad, but still. But I love it though! - i love coming on here and reading what everyone else is getting!

For the past two or three years, I think CIJ has had the best selection of new holiday decor items.  This year wasn't as exciting without Lisa's show, plus it seems like QVC is trying to spread the new offerings to other months, too.

I stopped watching QVC live years ago, but I try to record Valerie's shows to see her vignettes.  At this point, It will have to be a special item to get me to buy it as I already have all I need.  I mostly check QVC.com to see what's new and read the Home Forum posts, of course.

@Marsha2003

I have said the same thing a few times. Several years ago, Christmas in July had become a joke. It was reduced to nothing more than a clearing out of the previous year's stuff that didn't even sell as lunchtime specials.

But the last couple years they have been back strong, with lots of new items, and really the best of what they have for the entire season.

@KellKats  Me too, Kel.  We can learn so much on here from each other and it is enabling at it's finest.  I guess "monkey see, monkey do"  is alive and well on the forums.  I love it though.
