For the Yellow Fellows (and Ladies)

Contrast the use of yellow in these two bedrooms.

#1, from Ethan Allen-

#2, from Laurie Smith- (you might recognize her work from Trading Spaces)

They have both been "designed", but one is designed with elements "for sale" and the other is designed for a client's tastes.

Which do you prefer and why?

Re: For the Yellow Fellows (and Ladies)

I love yellow, I like the 1st photo better (but I actually like both), the 1st one is bright and cheerful with just the right amount of yellow, understated but yet it still makes it's presence known.

i am not a fan of too much yellow but I like both of these rooms. Top room is more open airy which I do like.

Re: For the Yellow Fellows (and Ladies)

The first one was probably in the house for sale.

White walls, few furnishing.

The 2nd one is much more cozy, IMO

Elements that are more personal.

That big bed is not for everyone, I'd have it, but I can see a stager avoiding it.

To me it makes the ceiling look lower.

I love the 1st one, very pretty and soft.....The 2nd one-not so much! on the snd one I don't like the chandelier, or the drapes. The 1st one is very soft, very open and inviting to me!!!!!!

I prefer #2. It is warm and cozy. #1 is, to me, icy and cold. Of course, to each his own. It would be a dull world if we all liked the same things.

Re: For the Yellow Fellows (and Ladies)

I am not a big fan of yellows and browns, but I do like both rooms.  I would like them better if there was some blues in them.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!
