Re: Footboard or no footboard

@Regal Bee  I have a decorating question. I noticed you have a small area rug at the foot of your bed. Is this rug over wall to wall carpet? I have always wanted to do that but thought it was a no no.

I love both a footboard and a bench/chest. It does make it harder though to make the bed so it may not be the best choice for you.

I would personally go with a more neutral bench than the animal print.  That way you won't be as likely to tire of it and if at some point you decide to change out your animal pictures you would still be able to use the bench.  Also,  I like to have the option to be able to move pieces from room to room in the house.  Either way though, everything is coming together nicely and will look beautiful.

@Regal Bee

I love your new bench.  I also notice how your lean your mirrors on your fireplace and wondered how you keep them from slipping?  I tired that on a buffet with a heavy mirror and didn't trust that it would stay put.

I have to add, your home is lovely and like everyone else I look forward to and love seeing all your pictures.  It is incredibly generous of you to share your pictures and your styling tips with us.  Like others here on this board, I have 'borrowed' some of your ideas.  Again, many thanks.

@itsmetoo  Thank you so much for such kind remarks. I love sharing and taking pictures. (I take my camera with me everywhere I go.)

I use a non-slip gripper pad on the bottom of the leaning mirror. So important and it really does the job. I had a mirror to slip once and it was a nightmare.

I love to lean my mirrors and also layer mirrors and pictures.

Again, thank you......I sometimes feel I post too many pictures and your comment really blessed me.

@Regal Bee

I also take my camera with me everywhere but these days most of my pictures are of nature.

I was so fearful of my big mirror slipping for that very reason that I removed it. Is the non-slip gripper pad something you lay on the surface of your mantel or buffet or does it attach to the mirror itself?

I think I speak for not only myself but for a lot of others on this forum when I say you could never post too many pictures!  I've been hoping you'll post more of your kitchen since you moved things around for spring.

Again, many thanks for sharing your talents.

I like the look of a foot board, although, extremely tall men seem to find them uncomfortable.

My husband is almost 6'4" and we have a foot board and he has no problem with it.  Though it is probably because we have a California King size bed which is longer than a standard King.

@panda1234  Yes, it is a furry and textured rug and it is placed over wall to wall carpeting. I do it all the time and all over our home....on carpets and bare floors.

It is never a no-no to do anything in your home that makes you happy. I always get lots of compliments from friends about these rugs and my little Yorkie loves to rest on them.

Below, I have the same textured rugs in blush in my family room.....and over carpet.

@Regal Bee  Thank you. On your approval I am heading out to HomeGoods to see what I can find. I really like this look so I am on a mission.
