Am I the only one who hates those new microfleece furry sheets??? I think they feel slimy! I love the Northern Nights flannel but evidently QVC is fazing them out. I heard the vendor on this morning's linen clearance show say they were "going away from flannel". Flannel has been around for hundreds of years and is tried and true. QVC is forcing me to go back to LL Bean!
Another peeve -- I bought a topper for my mattress, making the whole package rather thick. It is a stretch (literally!) to get the sheets on the bed now. Several pairs don't fit at all. Lots of people have toppers --seems to me the sheets ought to be an inch or two deeper than they are. Just sayin' . . . . What do you gals think?

For a "dreamy" nights sleep, go back to LL Bean!! I purchased some flannel sheets this
past season and they were worth every penny, and then some!!

I got a set of Malden Mills microfleece sheets from QVC about 3 years ago and just love them. They are warm without being overly heavy. I live in a drafty old house and in the winter I just have the microfleece sheets and a light thermal blanket on the bed along with the bedspread and it's very comfortable to sleep. If we happen to have a really cold spell, I just throw an afghan on top and I'm fine. I don't find them to be slimy at all.

Land's End also carries flannel.

Vermont Country Store has some great flannel sheets as well.
I bet there will be more flannel available in the fall...this is the season for cool, crisp sheets (VCS has crisp sheets too!)

We tried microfleece sheets, but DH couldn't stand them while I was neutral about them. We ended up giving them to my MIL who loves them.
I prefer all cotton percale fitted bottom sheets, but opted to use a flannel flat top sheet since last Fall. The last six months have felt so cold, compared to normal weather in the South, so I haven't stopped using it yet. It is comforting to sleep under, but I still prefer percale bottom sheets and cases.

I use microfleece AND an electric blanket.
I find that I have to get new microfleece sheets every year though - they tend to pill.
We had a HIGH of 44 yesterday...and constant rain.
At least the sun is shining today! It's currently 38 degrees.

Another vote for the microfleece sheets. Winter I use them with a down comforter. Right now I'm warm enough with the fleece sheets and a quilt.

"Slimy" is a new description for sheets. I'm not sure I've ever heard sheets described that way before. I use microfiber sheets all of the time and love them. My mother is a huge fan of microfleece. She used to love her 6.4 oz Land End flannel sheets for the winter until she tried microfleece and now sticks to the microfleece. In summer she'll switch to the cooler microfiber, but it won't be until sometime in June when the heat becomes too high and even then she'll keep the microfleece top sheet out and use it as a light blanket on cooler nights. Come the first cool night in August, back on go the microfleece sheets.

I compare my microfleece sheets to VELVET, not slime!
