I haven't seen flannel sheets on QVC for several years.  If they've had some, I missed them.  They waned in popularity when they came out with the microfleece which most people liked much better.

I second the motion to check out LL Bean.  It seems like QVC sells more of the polar fleece-type sheets rather than flannel nowadays.  Polar fleece is soft, but it's also polyester.  I, too, prefer the touch and quality of 100% cotton, flannel sheets.

Thank you all very much for your input.  It's very much appreciated.  I will check out Lands End and LL Bean.  Because they are for my son, I want him to have the best. He takes good care of his things and his home is impeccable.   Oftentimes, money put out up front results in better quality and the product lasts longer.

@Kachina624  Would you be kind enough to explain to me what mircofleece is so I can explain it to my son?  I may get him a set of flannel and a set of microfleece.  Thank you very much.               docsgirl

@docsgirl  Microfleece is a brushed polyester fabric that's as soft as sleeping in a cotton ball.  Flannel went out of favor the instant the fleece hit the stores.  I personally love them as flannel always felt kind of scratchy to me.

Thanks so very much for the description. I'll discuss it with him and perhaps he'll want a set of each.  Thank you, again, for taking the time for giving such a good explanation so I really know what it is.  He lives in Chicago so it gets really chilly there.  He's 50 years of age but Mom loves to buy him things.  He'll always be my baby.Heart  Thanks again.

I prefer my flannels,  bought the polar fleece when it first came to qvc and it just caused me to sweat ,  woke up soaked !  So no fleece for me ,  it doesn't breath the way 100% cotton flannel does.  I wish northern nights would come back with there Portgagese (sp)? Flannel which us the very best ,  lasts fir years , still have them,  just the right weight and very soft!

I much prefer flannel to the polar fleece. I bought one set of the polar fleece a few years ago.  We used them one winter and then I gave them to Goodwill. We really didn't care for the fabric and they took up too much room in the linen closet.

Give me flannel any day.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
