A couple of yrs. ago, I purchased several sets of Candle Impressions with timers. They have all been discontinued, I love them, & wanted to reorder. I have looked at the Luminara candles, but I don't care for the fake looking flame. I can't tell if this is a bulb, or what the "flame" is made of. Can someone tell me about the "flame"??

I love my Candle Impressions, guess I could check on Amazon.

Re: Flameless candle

The Luminara flame shaped piece is white plastic, it ruins the look for me when it's off during the day. Candle Impressions has different styles now, a black wick, a bulb & the Mirage that's similar to the Luminara flame but it doesn't move around...I like the black wick.

The wick is a piece of plastic that moves back and forth by the use of a magnet inside the candle.

I saw a new similar style at BJs this weekend by a different brand. It seems that other companies are making their own versions.

COSTCO is selling five candles, on timers for $19.98. I bought them, they are great.

Good job on the Costco find!  They have great prelit Christmas trees too.  I think these Luminara candles are WAY too expensive.  I'm not crazy about the glitter on the TSV either.  The cream is kind of pretty, but, so much money -- and only $20 off the regular QVC price.  What happened to the great TSV pricing?

Even the Dollar Tree has them.

Not as fancy as Luminaria but actually very pretty, better than I expected.

Michaels has "glitter" candles if I remember correctly set of 4 (different heights) $17.99 with remote.  Not sure of timer feature.

For the short time I would use red or green candles "cheaper" is ok with me!!!

As I said on another thread, I'm not in the loop on all the flameless candles.  The TSV seems expensive to me.  However, I'd be very leary of buying cheap flameless candles.

The reason why I don't own these types of candles is because I've had no luck with them.  Several years ago I bought a set of 4 Jeffrey Banks candles from HSN.  They came with a remote and they were the ones that you could set to various color.

I use good quality name brand batteries but despite this, these candles had very short battery life.  Then the remote quit working before the holiday season was even over and changing the battery in it didn't work.  Then the candles quit working shortly thereafter.

Then I won a set of what I believe to be the same candles.  They looked exactly the same, had the same remote, same color options, etc.  And the same thing happened with them.  The remote quit working then the candles quit working.

The only flameless ones I've had luck with are the tea lights that I bought from Kohls.  I put them inside some of my holiday decor that require them.  However I have to go around the house and hand light them and turn them off.  But they've been great.

I don't know how the battery life is on these products but I cannot imagine all the batteries being gone through.

I have a votive size in a lantern. The flame arrived askew so it does not dance. I have tried turning it upside down and shaking, and just shaking but nothing works.. Flame still isn't straight.
