Re: First Time Homeowner Gets Space Decorated

I like a lot of it. It’s just a little crowded. That chair in front of the window would be gone and a lot of the wall art.

Lol, if her style is clutter, then he nailed it. But not knowing her or her style makes it impossible to know. Personally the entire thing would be a big no. Too much clutter + too many wild, bold colors = hodgepodge. Sorry.

NOT my taste at all. WAY too busy and WAY too much stuff in such a small space.

I could totally live there. But ditch the ceiling light fixture in the living room.

I like the space and colors, but do not like my wall space covered with pictures.

Re: First Time Homeowner Gets Space Decorated

Like many mentioned upthread...a little busy.

All these decorated pictures & model homes & showrooms

make me giggle...

Where’s the TV?

Where’s the computer & printer w/ all the cords?

Where do I throw my keys?

Where’s the washer & dryer?

Is the couch big enough to take a nap w/ the dog?

You know, all the basic stuff.

Everything looks all slim, trim, tight & clean for pictures

but once everyone leaves, the ‘Apartment Girdle’ comes off &

truth be told, everything becomes messier!

Re: First Time Homeowner Gets Space Decorated

I love it!

I live it!

My (newest) kitchen is tiny.  Wish I could have the hanging cabinets because my kitchen is closed off from the livingroom/dining room.  Thankfully, lots of east facing windows keep it bright and opened up during the day.

I love all the colors they used.  I kept it all pastels--losts of salmon/peach/pink/orange.  Even chalk painted the dining table a cantelope color.

Although our 2 cats have no idea we have this place, I always keep the natural linen couches covered in striped pestemals.  (I have over 20 to choose from and can switch up the color theme of the livingroom in minutes.)

I think he did an awesome job.

I would hope her designer brother knows what she likes/dislikes - at least for the bones of the room. Maybe he had some fun accessorizing.

There is just a little too much stuff for me.

These appear to be nice spaces and despite some solid elements, lovely choices and pretty colors, were I a first time homeowner and a decorator did this to my new place, it might make me swear off homeownership going forward... I'd definitely swear off decorators... At least this one... Brother or not...

Not my particular style, but I find it cute, colorful, youthful.  Nice to have a brother who knows you to work on your place!
