Re: Finished the Fall Mantle...

@haddon9  Thank you!  These are the LED mirrored glass pumpkins and gourd set that I bought a few weeks ago at BJs for $34 for all 3.  Good deal considering how much the Q charges for 1 lit pumpkin.

Re: Finished the Fall Mantle...

The mantle is actually a slice out of a real tree, so the width is about 14" inches wide.  You can't see it in the picture unless you get a close up but the front of the mantle follows the shape of the tree with some curves and knots, etc.  My husband and I went to a tree place in south Jersey that had different types of trees cut in various lengths.  Since my husband was a master woodworker by trade, he picked out the piece,  length/width of tree he wanted and then sanded and stained it for the fireplace to use as a mantle.   I can understand the issue with your mantle being short in width.  Sometimes having an extra long mantle can be challenging to decorate because it so spacious it's hard to fill up and still look like you didn't just put things there.

Re: Finished the Fall Mantle...

@San Antonio Gal  That's really kind of you to say and I try, but I don't feel like I have the talent to make the mantle look like it deserves.  It's such a beautiful mantle and fireplace, I sometimes feel like I don't do it justice when decorating it.

Re: Finished the Fall Mantle...

Your mantle looks beautiful!! I have a similar one that is very long, but it makes it fun to find new things to put on it every year. I went crazy this year with the addition of Valerie's starry night pumpkins. In fact, about 90% of what I have on the mantle is from Valerie, most of them older pieces.20240912_190642.jpg

@ciao_bella  Wow! That's a great story about your husband creating the mantel out of a rough piece of wood! That special mantel surly deserves to be well-decorated, and you did a beautiful job!

Re: Finished the Fall Mantle...

I no longer have a mantel, so I'm enjoying seeing all the decorations here.
