I once sold my beautiful single story house and bought a small townhome - very claustrophobic and bad floorplan. I hated the 11 years I lived in it. Luckily, I was able to sell it 18 years ago and I purchased my present house brand new and have enjoyed living here every day. I've spent very little money on the upkeep - my gardener comes here every Wednesday morning and I only replaced the water heater once. I have a tile roof that lasts forever. I didn't install an air conditioner when I bought the house - as the weather here is mild all year long.

I'm 78 yrs young and could never imagine living in an apartment/condo.

If you're happy in the apartment - good for you. We each like different living situations - at different ages. I run up/down the stairs a lot - but it's my exercise.

Enjoy your new surroundings.
