Do you have any kind of a fence at your house?
In the back here, there's a fence on both sides that are see through. No pools, for those larger fences. Deer can run though openings and you can see for yards around.

Yes, we have a six-foot white vinyl fence around our whole back yard. Matches our white garage and house. Looks lovely and love the privacy!

Our large back yard has chain link fencing on all sides, soon to be replaced with privacy fencing.
Can't wait till it cools off and DH can start!

I wish I lived where I had deer and animals but I don't but we have a 6 foot block fence around our property. Almost everyone has a fence similar unless you live in maybe an older subdivision. All houses built from around 1980 or so have some kind of fencing. A 6 foot block fence is the most common now. Wouldn't have it any other way. I don't want to see my neighbors junk nor do I want them to see mine.

Only in the house where we had an in-ground pool. The entire yard was fenced.

While I'd love a cute picket fence somewhere to honor the June Cleaver in me.....I have acreage so it's not practical.
My neighbors across the road have a fence around their in ground pool.

@Snowpuppy I’ve always wanted a white picket fence but like you have acreage and so it’s not feasible. It also wouldn’t be practical in the winter when my husband is moving snow.
We did put put up a snow fence to block off part of our woods in order to keep some kids from riding their bikes through the yard as a shortcut. It wasn’t so much because we minded them doing it but we didn’t want to take a chance they might get hurt while doing it.

We live rural, and essentially no fence, except the barbed wire fence between us and the nearest neighbor, a left over from when his property was cattle grazing land. We left it up as a boundary, agreed upon by both of us.
The area I live in was mostly open fields and woods when we first moved here. Since then, at least a half a dozen Amish homes have sprung up on our section of road (which is about four miles long). They have erected a ton of fences, and it has spoiled the natural rolling hills and views. They are mostly barbed wire some are slat fencing, all designed to keep various livestock in (cattle, horses sheep and occasionally pigs). They are not uniform, sometimes created out of second hand material, and often not very effective. We find stray cows, the occasional hog and a stampede of 'free at last' horses on our property, a couple of times a year. The fences have really detracted from the beauty of this area, because they run many of them all over the property, to make smaller areas of containment. Just an ugly mess on some of the properties.
When I lived in town, I liked a backyard surrounded by privacy fence, as the houses were very close together in the old neighborhoods. In town, good fences make good neighbors for sure. I like defined spaces when living that close to others.

No fence. Wasn't a problem until recently. One neighbor had an evergreen tree fence that blocked off their backyard on both sides. They recently cut all the trees down. I have zero privacy now.

Five foot decorative wrought iron in front........6 foot cement block in back. Both painted cream color.
