Sheets that "pill" do happen! I bought a really pretty comforter from BB&B last fall that included a set of sheets. After 5 or 6 washings (cool water) I couldn't believe how the sheets had pilled and were so thin. So yeah, it does happen. I think those sheets were 100% miceofiber. I just ordered the Northern Nights Q special last month and am pleased with the weight of the sheets - they're part cotton and part poly....after a couple of washings, they're softer but I don't think I'll see the pilling.
