FROM DALLAS: MORE SPRINGTIME TABLE SETTING

Screenshot 2024-04-20 at 8.21.26 AM.png

Oh, boy--   Courtney Petit is a lucky lady now living in Dallas, who has been collecting table ware, as well as curating pieces her mother gave her, for 25 years.  Look how excited she is, ha.

Backing up, here's the delightful house that is the setting for what she does.   It's an older house by a famous Texas architect, and unbelievably, it was marketed as a "tear-down" when Courtney and her husband bought it.   They were determined that that wouldn't happen.

Love the arches and the romantic little balcony...

A good section of the house feels like a series of charming greenhouses...

When "Homeworthy" came to film, Courtney wanted to create a feeling in the entry of "coming through a garden".

Her entry table has a huge ginger jar, surrounded by her collection of Wedgwood jasperware containing a mass of tulips--

It WOULD be like walking through a tulop garden!

Each of her small Wedgwood vases that she collected has its own story.   Some she picked up second hand for a song--

Putting the jasperware all together to make a tulip garden is inspired!

So many goodies on her shelves.  She keeps some of them in her pantry:

She has some hand-me-down tureens, and some she's collected:

She has a weakness for frogs, and these guys are so cute:

More china closet goodies:

Another favorite frog-- I think part of her salt and pepper shaker collection

Screenshot 2024-04-20 at 8.34.49 AM.png

More cute salt and peppers--  Staffordshire dogs, a pair of pigs, and I think even the silvery dog in the back is an open salt cellar!

Let's not forget yummy linens, some of which she said her daughter embroidered for her:

They filmed her setting a springtime table in her solarium, where they often eat meals---

It's hard to see in the picture, but the centerpiece is another large ceramic frog, with a fluffy fern in him.   Do you spot some pink bird shapes on the table?  Read on...

Can you see that frog's solemn little expression better in this shot?

The plates she chose for this particular setting were designed by Gloria Vanderbilt, in the 70's.

Her kids would be there, so she's serving pink lemonade in the aforementioned delicate mockingbird-shaped goblets, that you put straws in.

A pretty, whimsical table.   I can't imagine having as vast an array of choices as she has, but it was fun to see her make her selections and put together.

The video was just one delight after another for fans of home wares and houses.  To view, search at Homeworthy youtube:

WOW! What an absolutely STUNNUNG and eclectic melange of colors and textures!!!❤ Each photo has elements that speak to me; from subtle to daring! I would never have thought to adorn the shelving the way she did, but it is PERFECT; mixing the vintage with modern! The tulips are certainly WELCOMING spring and make me smile; being a symbol of love!🥰

I was surprised by the strategically placed bundle of asparagus spears on that BEAUTIFULLY dressed table, and although unexpected, it blends in seamlessly! I LOVE❤ the pink goblets, and floral focal point on the plates!

I want that lovely floral teapot, and the quaint pastel linens add a delicate nod to spring! There is just SO much going on, that I could stay in that space ALL day and still find something new to LOVE❤!🥰

THANK you SO much for caring to share this GORGEOUS journey into spring!🤗

~~~All we need is LOVE💖
That was all wonderful!
Such beautiful decor!!!!!  It reminds me of my mother who loved collecting china pieces and figurines. I inherited much of it and have some on display but most in a breakfront.  I can appreciate the designer's love for all of the pieces she has.  The solarium is stunning.  Surrounding yourself with items you have collected and love is uplifting and enhances a room.  Very nice collections.
Way too much possession overload for me, but if it makes her happy, and it appears that it does, that's the only important thing.
Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
@Oznell
I'm in love ❤️ with the entryway and all of those beautiful flowers.🌸
The frog pieces she has are quirky, but elegant at the same time.  I noticed the little pigs right away too.  I had to look twice, but spotted the silver doggie in the back.  I like how the metal blends in with the porcelain pieces.😃
What I wouldn't give to have a solarium like that!  This is my favorite part of the house!❤️. It's no wonder they eat most of their meals there...I would too!
The table setting is just magical!
This house is like something out of a Shakespearean movie!  I agree with the poster who said the balcony is reminiscent of Romeo & Juliet!  Just beautiful!
I REALLY enjoyed this one!  Thanks so much for sharing.😊❤️
@Oznell This lady has quite a treasure trove of goodies. Love the crystal goblets.  The solarium is beautiful too. Thanks for posting them.
