FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH CARPET, TILE, AND HARDWOOD, WHAT

type/brand of vacuum do you use?  I am looking for something that I can use on all three.

Does anyone have a good rec that they enjoy using?  I seem to remember a thread WAY back about people liking a specific Shark Vac.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH CARPET, TILE, AND HARDWOOD, WHAT

I have carpet, ceramic tile and laminate. I have a dyson canister vac - love it. I usually just use my Aslett dry mop on the laminate and the tile and vac my carpet but if it is a big mess - I can turn off the rotating brush on the hard floors and vacuum them as well. To be honest - I have a very bad back and vacuuming is extremely difficult for me. That back & forth motion just is very painful! My housekeeper vacs when she cleans every 2 weeks and my DH will do it once or twice in between - Bless him. I do better just using my Don Aslett dry mop.

Shark Liftaway is the best vacuum in my opinion.  I do have all three floorings mentioned.

We have carpets, laminate, hardwoods and ceramic tile. I use a Dyson Animal upright and love it!

Get a Roomba.  One of the best purchases ever.  Just set it to vacuum as many times a week as you want.  It does a much better job than I would do.  Who vacuums 1 1/2 hrs every day.  The amazing thing is how much it picks up.  It cleans my tile floor, wood floor and carpet. It has changed my life!

I use a shark liftaway, also. It does a great job and I can't believe how much it picks up. I also have all three types of flooring you said.

I use the Shark Rocket Deluxe Pro Ultralight Upright...and for in between (everyday) pickup, I use the Shark (Cordless) Navigator Freestyle.  Both are excellent performance wise on carpet, tile and hardwood floors.  I love using them both, especially the cordless Shark.

I love my Dyson ball vacuum. I have one Animal model and one of regular ball models. I have dogs so these machines get a work out.

I also have the Don Astlett microfiber mop for dusting and cleanin up light spills. The mop head is extra wide so it really reduces the time to dust a floor.

Lastly, I have the Hann floor steamer. Works great.

I have carpet, ceramic, marble, hardwood, engineered wood, and tile floors in my home. It took me years to find the right tools for the cleaning surfaces in our home. I also wanted to have tools that were self maintained. I was done with having to purchase filters or throw away items. I can rinse the filters for the Dyson and wash the microfiber mats for the mop and the steamer.

Re: FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH CARPET, TILE, AND HARDWOOD, WHAT

I personally think a hard floor of any kind is not really clean with a vacuum. It will get up the big pieces, but a lot of fine hair and dust will not be picked up.

Hard floors need some kind of liquid/damp cloth to get all the particles up, in my opinion. Even if just a damp microfiber mop.
