FIELDSTONE HOUSE IN VIRGINIA

Nice rambling house on former farmland near beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia.

I'd never heard of this 'floofy' pink grass before-- it's called "muhly".   The luxuriant grasses combined with stone walls makes me think of Ireland, somehow.

In the entry, contemporary art combines with an antique table and the wild touch of persimmon...

A few of the other rooms are a tad too fussy for me, but here are a few of my favorites--

Love this family room / library, so cozy, and so personal, with its handsome sailboat.

A kitchen with work table instead of an island, and stunning view.

Timeless dining room.

Again, modern painting with a lovely antique painted chest.

Love the old tub with silvered legs.

Airy master bedroom.

But this child's bedroom is my favorite--  a storybook room.

Charming guest room.

Old millstone frames a bench in the garden.

A striking stacked stone fireplace anchors the terrace.  How great it looks in the autumn countryside-- it has all the presence of a brooding monument!

Slender columns divide and frame the rolling lands that make up the view.

😂😂😂 I can't believe you're posting pictures of my house!

Seriously  it's absolutely amazingly awesome, and we'll be ready to move in by late October, or early November.

5 windows in the master bedroom! Beautifully decorated and so inviting...

The children's bedroom is lovely! I'd prefer the master bedroom but would be happy in the guest bedroom.

I would start the day with a soothing soaking in that lovely tub; go to the warm kitchen for breakfast and then enjoy the fresh air on the patio. What a spectacular view!

Thank you for another wonderful posting @Oznell

Wow...lovely, homey, inviting, beautiful setting and land. And I have friends nearby. Yes, please!

I'd be so happy having my morning coffee, and later cooking in that kitchen.

So happy in that beautiful master bedroom. Love those shades too.

Love that very "charming" guest room...I always envision a yellow guest room...cheery, cozy. Love the iron bed.

And ohhhhh, that veranda and view.

Sigh.

Love, love, love it all.

Love the flowering in the garden.  Wonderful rooms which I could move in to.  Soothing colors.

Must be lovely to have hot and cold running servants 🤣 I wish.

Fond memories of Virginia for me.  There are some gorgeous places there, and this is certainly one of them.

Lovely to see. Heart

I love everything about this house except the bath. The stonework and setting is beautiful. The rooms are so tasteful and timeless, but the bathroom with the rug, etc....not for me.

My mother lived in Charlottesville.  This feels like coming home....nature, comfort, understated elegance.  As always, thank you @Oznell
