In honor of "Christmas in July",  here are just a few pictures of a beautifully restored old (early 19th century) Cape Cod.  (For some reason, I don't mind "Christmas in July".   As a traditionalist, I suppose I should be furious or something, but I'm not.  But those who dislike un-seasonal Christmas fuss, be warned!)

I love this very restrained kind of Christmas decorating.  There's something about this parlor that just grabbed me--  there's history whispering here...

Here's the typically simple, modest Cape Cod style exterior, concealing the treasures within:

Touches of red bring Christmas to the kitchen.  That soapstone sink, oh my!

FABULOUS!  i think the only thing i would change is the fabric canopy on the bed. the kitchen is to die for!

I would love that house in any season. The only thing I'm wondering about is how they keep the fire from sooting the front of the brick surround and the wood. Our's gets very sooty.

I have always loved the New England area and this house would be a wonderful getaway for me.  I would make a few changes but over all I do like it !!!!!

Oh my goodness, I just ADORE that house and the interior decor!  I hope it's been modernized enough that living there is a dream come true for the homeowners!
