I love what Lory Bernstein did for her 'designthusiam'  Independence Day brunch table.

She decided not to buy anything new for it, only the little twig stars in flag colors.

How lucky that her chairs happen to be white!

The fact that a lot of it is vintage, contributes to the charm of it, for me.

Pretty combo of sturdy blue goblets, and clear glen plaid champagne flutes...

Love this--   Her layered plates started with:   a pewter charger, and then a plain white dinner plate.  For her blue and white layer, she cleverly used Hanukkah plates she already had, for their pretty, lace-like edge.  And she finished with old red transferware.

And see her "First Love" silverplate flatware by Rogers?  Sweet nostalgia.  That also happened to be my mother's!  Have great memories of that silverware at our own dinners.

The informality of reddish Mason jars works perfectly for her simple bouquets.  Don't you also think that her choice of an understated, embroidered white tablecloth really makes everything stand out, and doesn't compete?

A white ceramic pitcher is another casual vase--

And another:

She layered her napkins, to create more red, white and blue.

OK,  this Barclay Butera room below has nothing to do with her table setting, but it's one of my favorite little red, white and blue vignettes of a comfortable, yet sophisticated corner.  Love the white piping on navy, the seascapes, everything.   It COULD go beautifully with her table!

Hope all have a safe and happy Independence Day.

@Oznell   I really like this.  It is elegant, but at the same time it has a down home, warm vibe to it.

@Oznell

That is a very beautifully decorated table.  How clever to use the vintage designs for the theme.  My mom has some dishes very similar to the red/pink floral she uses.

Re: FESTIVE JULY 4 BRUNCH TABLE

Very nice. Whenever  I set a beautiful table, there is no room for the food!  I end up removing half the decorations or putting the food on a sideboard for guests to help themselves.  It probably works for those with very long tables.

@Oznell

Now that's how you decorate for the 4th of July! Gorgeous!

I love the elegance of it without the obvious in your face stars and stripes....subtle, elegant and using what you already have and love. Just gorg!!!!

@Oznell  This is a beautiful, layered tablescape.

I have a friend who is wild for red, white and blue...she would love this!

Re: FESTIVE JULY 4 BRUNCH TABLE

@Oznell Those Ralph Lauren Glen Plaid champagne glasses like the one in the first picture are semi ventage I guess. They are going for about $100 and up on e-bay now.

I have the highballs and old fashioneds, and bowls and such that I got back in the day.  I have a couple of other patterns, Herringbone and Aston, I bought in the wine glasses to mix it up.

Re: FESTIVE JULY 4 BRUNCH TABLE

I just love the table she set! To me it is much more inviting and appealing than a table set  with brand new everything that looks like it has never been on a table before. What she already had was the perfect way to go. I have a lot of blue willow and some Spode Italian that I should put out with some of my red napkins and red mason jars
