FAVORITE SUNROOM IN FLORIDA TRADITIONAL

From Town and Country Living--

jacksonville-home.jpg

Love a navy front door, the coordinating square planters with boxwoods, tall shutters and lanterns.

The first of two kitties-- great family lives here!

Beautiful mirror, sconces and simple brass planters.

But just fell in love with this welcoming sunroom, my favorite room in the house.  Feels very Southern--  you could drink a long, sweet tea here, and read a long novel while rain pattered the windows...

Wish they had shown more of the living room, but, I do like the "gravitas" of the antique chair and old rug in this corner.

Dining room looks pretty and airy.  White chairs temper the seriousness of dark wood table.  Delicate chandelier.

Beautiful millwork in the den.  Looks reclaimed--

The kitchen might be my least favorite, in terms of the too-bright white.  A softer white is almost always better, in my eyes. Do like the glass fronted cabinets though, and wood plank ceiling, which continues the cottage feeling.

Brick floors in back entry bring visual warmth, but probably feel cool to a hot Florida kitty!

Even the back porch is expansive and welcoming.

Gorgeous traditional home.  And I'm surprised it's in Florida!

What a beautiful home! I love all of the interiors. The exterior is great, too, but I would like it better if the shutters were navy to match the door. I know they don't have to match, but that's just a personal preference on my part. I really love this, though!

I love this home but SHOCKED that it would be in Florida.  Wonder how deep into Florida it is, or if it is in the Panhandle.  I love it.  Love it.  Love it.  I love the kitties even more.  Love the mudroom/feeding room for kitties.  I just wonder how all that wood and beautiful rugs are going to hold up in the deep humidity and salt water.  But I guess it's their concern and not ours.  That is probably the most beautiful home I have seen in Florida.

This home is just Southwest of the city of Jacksonville on the St. John's River.  It is on the West side of the St John's.

Yeah, it's in Florida, but Jacksonville has always done it's own thing, it's way!  Actually it is Duval now!  We'll claim it!

@Oznell - Beautiful pictures and beautiful home! I could move right in!

Beautiful entryway! Our Chinese Thousand-Year-Old Egg Pots (similar to the picture below) would replace the planters (We plant in them seasonally with real flowers and plants.)

What's our Luc doing in Florida sitting on that gorgeous rug? LOL!

The entryway and sunroom are perfect, but that sunroom coffee table might be a little modern for me.

I would redo the living room with different styles and colors. I might keep the oriental rug.

I "think" I'd keep the dining set, but not sure about the style of the chandelier with that particular look. I love the rug (of course!)

I would keep the den exactly as it is - just perfect!

I agree about the kitchen. I'm not a bright white person, and I would change the blue of the island to a soft green or turquoise. I know the stove is probably an antique, but that's not my style either. I love the rug, but not in the kitchen!

I'll take the back entry/mudroom as is, complete with kitty! Not really- we have enough kitty children right now!

The shutters you see on the back porch are nice, but I would get a bigger bench.

Thank you for sharing with us! I'll let everyone know when we move in and we'll all have iced tea in the sunroom!  Smiley Wink

ETA: Forgot to post the egg pots. They are similar to this. We had baby bunnies born in them one year. They all survived and mom took care of them!

Beautiful home.

My favorites are the kitties, the living room (I agree) and the shutters.

The shutters and their color are what first got me. I know @CarolinaGirl88 mentioned wanting a blue which would be pretty as well, it would be a totally different look...

But I think the current shutter color is fantastic. I love the unexpected subtle toned down color combo of the white and light tan, it has a sophistication about it..... very pleasing to the eye.

Also love the back entryway with the brick floor and dutch doors are the best.....the pretty cottage-ie white paneling throughout is lovely too.

@Zhills

I know Jacksonville and Tampa due to visits there with friends and family.  A brother who is an attorney and a best friend who was an attorney.

Unfortunately, there's just not much of anything here  (inside or out)  that appeals to me except for the sweet kitties.

Lovely.  And no palm or wicker furniture in sight.  Palm and wicker in Florida decorating are a real pet peeve of mine.
