Chances are in 5 years who won't need to spend $2000 in any repair on those appliances. Extended warranties are money makers for the stores selling them. The sales person receives a commission on each one sold. Big waste of money.

I didin't even purchase the extended warranty on the last car that we purchased because it was just too much money.
I wish I had not bought an extended warranty when I bought my last car.
I am still getting phone calls every few days on my cell phone and my landline about my warranty. And the car is almost 10 years old. I turn off my phone most of the time because of the endless calls.
