I bought a dried eucalyptus arrangement from Michaels to make a dramatic statement for our new mantle. It looks fabulous as it has a couple different shades included in it.
Mind you, I don't mind the eucalyptus scent, in fact I quite like it - always have - but holy cow, this is incredibly strong!!! I took it outside and sprayed it quite liberally with Odor Gone. That stuff helps everything! But I'm guessing this contains eucalyptus OILS in those branches. Not much gets rid of the oils, I'm sure.
But any idea how I can help tone it down?? I've been leaving it outside during the day (when it's not foggy/humid) but at night it's a tad overpowering!!!
TIA

I am having this exact same problem. I bought dried eucalyptus for my home from west elm but the oils are overpowering and much too strong. I have tried leaving them out in the sun during the day but it hasn't helped much. If you were able to figure out a solution to this problem, I'd really appreciate any advice you may have!

Try spraying it lightly with vinegar/water in a spray bottle.
Vinegar is known to get rid of odors.
