It'll get worse before it gets better.  The season for "cozy" is just beginning.  Throws make fantastic gifts as you don't need a size and many go with any color scheme.  Sadly, I've found that every year they seem to get thinner and more cheaply made.

I agree with Kachina. Unfortunately they do get more cheaply made and thinner every year.

Re: Endless array of sofa throws

My sofa and love seat (and my bed and various other places) are covered with afghans and a DB faux fur throw.  Even draped over bookcases!  (looks fab)

I few years ago, I was on an afghan making streak .... every time I made one for charity, I made one for myself.

I do still make them ... but now all go to charity.  I ran out of places to put them here@

@LTT1  Thank you for the Garnet Hill recommendation.  I've been wanting a throw and hadn't looked there.  They're really nice, if somewhat more expensive. I want one for looks more so than warmth.

@ValuSkr

Each time I have splurged and purchased from Garnet Hill I have been pleased. As they advertise, they use a lot of natural fibers!

Re: Endless array of sofa throws

I have to have a "throw" away.  We have so many I have to get rid of some.  And yet every year we've gotten more.  How many holiday throws can a home store?

Anyone have an answer?  Woman Embarassed

I guess there are not many ways to showcase a throw but it seems ridiculous to me when the hosts wear them like shawls.

I think a shelter might be able to make use of throws.

I think that they might be of some comfort to homeless individuals.

@ALRATIBA  I too knit my own "throws" and have more than I will ever use.  So happy I learned to knit decades ago.

Re: Endless array of sofa throws

I recently got the sunflower patterned one. I'm always cold and thought it would be nice for a touch of fall. The kitties love it.  Smiley Wink
