Sorry but this looks like the 80's style, not current.  That's my opinion.

It's all about different opinions... One person's 'dated' is another person's 'timeless'... That said, I agree, the window coverings are awful and the wall color is dated... I do think the furniture and rugs are very nice... On the other hand, not a speck of grey in sight and nothing even remotely  'farmhouse style'. Both of which, for me, are blessings...

Don’t want to be morbid here but it reminds me of a funeral home office. Yuck.

I would so lose those floral swags, the rug, everything on the desk, the wall picture, the small chest on the floor, and those red walls!

Needs some brightening up!! Get those walls a nice off white and a lighter area rug - that would do wonders here!!

(But, those florals swags really need to go!)

It is elegant.

Maybe to some it's out dated, and to some the decor is timeless.

Techically, everything in that room could be purchased brand new---in 2019.

I'm not wild about the draperies and could go with a solid.

I'm not wild about the wall color, but I could live with it.

The only issue I have is the rug under the chair.  Would get caught up in it every time you move the chair in or out.

Maybe the 1880s!  LOL

Actually, the rug is beautiful, and the desk is nice (although not what I'd purchase now).  But the room is very heavy and old fashioned.

As a traditionalist myself, I really like the furniture and the rug, but couldn’t live with those draperies.
