Understated yet appealing...

Lovely, off and on I've thought I'd like to have a Grandfather's clock.  This one is perfect for the entry.  And those floors!!  They get me every time. Cat Very Happy

Thats such a beautiful staircase, so elegant in its simplicity.  It seems a shame to clutter it up with chair, table and its contents.  I prefer that corner kept bare.

Yes, elegant.  Would love to see the whole house!

Very appealing as is for me. I would change the art of the man going up the steps (I'm sure it has meaning to the owner of the home) but that is all I would change.

For me, it's the wainscoting that transforms this lovely staircase into a smashing one.

I agree. It's a very elegant space. Love everything except the portrait and boat art.

Classic, "old school" entry.  Love the added patina and richness of the paintings and the clock.

Love it!  I probably would have chosen a few different things.   I would have gone with a different runner on the stairs and artwok, but I love the banister and the molding on the wall!
