Re: Elegant Architecture & Rustic Furnishings

@wilma This is a formal background with informal furniture.    I think they "tried" but didn't create space I personally care to be in.

Re: Elegant Architecture & Rustic Furnishings

Oh my, I'm virtually speechless... Here's the deal, I actually like all of the elements, just not together and not in that room... That said, I don't hate it... A very interesting mixture... This odd mixture would work better without the window valance...

Re: Elegant Architecture & Rustic Furnishings

Someone had an abundance of Lowe's gift cards and when kooky crazy on the ceiling and wall moulding.  Room appears too small for all that *adornment*.

Honestly, if I walked into that actual room, I'd probably burst out laughing.Woman Very Happy

I would remove the furniture and put in traditional pieces or something which fits the room.  I love the blue walls, drapes, carpet and would leave that of course.

I like the color on the walls, staircase from what I can see looks nice. I like the rug - that's it. I HATE ceilings like this, cobwebs, spiders and dust is all I see. This room is awful!

I like the room, but all the furniture needs to go in another setting!

Hokey shmokel that's everything but the kitchen sink.  What's with the big candle thing?

Too much going on, florals, orientals, prints, stripes, plaids and then blue wall color--yikes, way hard on the eyes and senses.  It is almost as though this room got all the leftovers!

This room really confuses me.

The architectural details, along with the rug, artwork & curtains speak to traditional elegance, but the rustic furnishings look better suited to a country styled house, garden, or outdoor space. The two just don’t go together IMO.

What do you think?

It's not a terrible job of mixing elegant with country.   I think it would suit that title better if they changed the upholstery on the chairs to a plain neutral color, had  a coffee table that was  less primitive, and did away with the pillows or make different pillow selections.
