Anyone have good luck with these in getting rid of mice?

The reviews I've read are mixed, however, I remember at one time the Federal Trade Commission contemplated ordering them off the market. I guess they changed their mind. I'm very dubious.
@KKJ. Why don't you buy them and let us know how well they work?

@Kachina624 Actually, I did and have several of them around the house. Am curious as did not know that about the FTC. Do you know why they wanted them off the market? Was it because they didn't work or another reason?

@KKJ. It has been quite a few years ago and I just don't remember. If you'll Google "electronic pest repeler and ftc" there is information available

"they did not work according to FTC guidlines"

It's ironic that you bring this up now. I'm in a duplex and my neighbor had someone over to assess noises he was hearing in his attic. I don't hear anything- and really thought I'd hear it eventually. Your post made me realize I plugged in several electronc pest repellers in my attic- so maybe they do work since only their side of the house has an issue.

Remember reading / hearing somewhere, I do not
rember where, that the high pitched tone bothered pets.
I would check that out before purchasing.

i did some reading on these i had a mouse problem 2 yrs ago. they are bad if u have hamsters etc because of the high pitch that other small animals can hear.. im lucky that i live alone with no pets or children. i put out the poison bait blocks and they seem to be working.. knock on wood... i havent seen any mice in here.. and where i put the bait they are eating it.. which is good.. as long as i dont see any in my place im happy.

Yes, these devices cannot be used if you have small pets like hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, etc.
With our outside rodent issues, I would love to have several of these devices. However, my teacher daughter rescued a chinchilla several years ago, then added guinea pigs that were intended to be classroom pets but have spent more time here than at school! If I hear "classroom pet" come out of her mouth again, she will be changing her address!

The ones I have are made by Black & Decker and Bell & Howell, not sure if the company cited by the FTC makes this version for these companies or not.
I use a ton of these in my townhouse, specifically my basement. I don't have a rodent problem, but I do have a bug problem and it seems to help a great deal with that.
I did have a bird problem with them building a nest in the vent of my powder room. I had the nest removed and taped down the vent hood, but the bird were still trying to get in there. I decided to put one in there and see if the birds stopped trying to get in there and now they don't even come near the vent anymore.
