She's not established enough as a designer to just not show up for these shows.
That is because she didn't design any of it.

Do you think Joan Rivers was sitting around sketching Bee pins and scarf patterns? No. The celebrities tell the designers what they're looking for, they bring in a bunch of products or sketches, and the celebrity points to what they want and stamp their name on it. If you've ever seen the Nene Leakes collection on HSN and watched the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you would have seen an example of this process. Nene walked into a board room with a bunch of network representatives. They presented a rack of clothes, and she picked what she liked. I do believe that QVC does indeed present real designers who present their own work, but the celebrities are not in that club.On 2/19/2015 PeterDM said: Ellen is not there, and when she called in, Carolyn said she wouldn't be on until later in he summer. The term that comes to my mind with most of the "celebrity" or "famous name" merchandise is that they curate the collection. As said above, many (but not all) just pick what they like and call it their collection, just like what a museum curator does.
For some reason I think Joan was a lot more involved in her collection than NeNe is in hers.

I don't see anything in her line that is special, unique or anything that I can't buy at Kohl's with a 30% off coupon. Nothing against Ellen herself, I love her.
Maybe I'm an old fuddy-duddy, but I definitely am not on board with the light-up letters for decorating my home. I especially don't need to see the word *E*A*T* lit up like a movie marquee in my kitchen. My brain does that all by itself, thank you very much, LOL!

I tried to watch but kept getting phone calls and dozing off...
I felt there was a disconnect between Ellen and the items. I know there was literally a disconnect because she wasn't there,
but that's not what I mean. I felt like Taniya and Carolyn did a nice job of presenting the items, showing excitement and informing the customer about most of the needed details. But then they mention Ellen out of the blue, and it's like, oh yeah, Ellen's involved with this item...I almost forgot!
Just my observation between dozing and interruptions...maybe nobody else saw it that way.
Peter, I hope you like the luminaries. They look nice. The bunny topiaries I ordered Monday are still in process, too. This might be a record for slowness in at the very least showing an item shipped.

Like Milly mentioned, it seems like Ellen has put her name on several of the already established QVC products. That's fine, I guess.
I bought quit a bit of outdoor furniture at Pier One several years ago, late in the season and on sale. There are so many pretty things in that store and they keep sending me emails reminding me of that!!! LOL
Enjoy your items!! (I had so much fun shopping the LR Holiday items...nice things)....

I heard Jill say that she has gone to Valerie's design studio, so if Valerie doesn't design anything, why does she have a design studio, I wonder.

I bought two of Ellen's flocked garlands, and they are beautiful. The timers on both worked perfectly. Other than these, I havn't seen anything I want.
