Lory at Designthusiasm wanted to come up with an "early" fall table she might do in September. For colors, she said she'd be inspired by fall fruit, which meant apples and pears. So, for this early fall table, she'd have reds and pale, pear greens, rather than more typical fall colors. Some of it would clearly transition well for Christmas!
Her inspiration bowl of fruit. She scattered pieces from some apple potpourri under the bowl:
She has a set of salad plates with root vegetables-- perfect for harvest, as are the rattan placemats, suggestive of baskets, earth tones and all things 'woody'...

She clasped her red and filmy celery-colored napkins with simple rings of warm coppper--

The chunky tortoise colored glasses, love, bring in more warm browns--

She put her pale green and red roses, along with cabbage leaves, in rustic, Tuscan inspired pots--

Her candles are two shades of green-

Versatile-- with a few tweaks, could be Christmas, or a year-round table setting, for that matter.
Another early fall scheme could be apples and grapes, with luscious purples coming in, and for flowers, asters and coneflowers...
