I purchased the Dyson TSV as I needed a new vacuum and was looking for a cordless vacuum.  This was my first Dyson purchase and I'm very disappointed.  It charges to 100% and then discharges while on the charging dock.  This morning it was down to 75% and only had about 30 minutes of charge time.  I've had other cordless vacuums but they only gave about 15 minutes of charge time.  I purchased the Dyson because on all the demos they said up to an hour of charge time.  Very disappointed as this was a very expensive purchase and it will be impossible to get it back in the box to return.

That is aggravating call customer service and see what they suggest for repacking to return.  If it were me I would be stuffing it somehow into the box to return even if I had to take other cardboard and tape and make a homemade box.

@joco728

If that is happening, the unit is clearly defective.  I'd put all the pieces in the box however they would fit even if I had to leave out some of the original packaging materials, and return it.  And make sure I got a full refund, including all the shipping costs.

That's too much money to spend on something that doesn't perform as advertised.

I have a cordless Dyson and the battery comes out to be recharged.  Can you remove your battery to recharge it? If that's the problem the battery, Dyson could simply send you another one.

I bought the cordless Dyson when it was a TSV and it came with two rechargeable batteries which is great because I often have to put the second one into service. I would check with Dyson to see if they could send you a replacement battery, and let you keep the one you have even if it doesn't give you a 100%, it would be a good back up.

this may be a good option versus having to return the whole thing for just a battery issue.

@joco728 Call Dyson support.  We bought  this latest dyson stick and it would not charge at all, I called QVC and was told to return it. I then called Dyson and they walked me thru several steps before telling me they are sending a new battery. First timeI have ever had an issue with a Dyson (we have several). FYI I would just put all the parts into the box with bubble wrap so that it doesn't rattle, no way would I try to get it into all those little boxes!!!

Never wanted a Dyson. Too much hype, and way too expensive.

I don't use the charging dock.

Mine is an older version V8 Absolute that came with 2 heads.

I keep it in the hall closet. After I use it I plug it in the wall outlet. I put it back in the hall closet until I use again.

If I'm gone for a week without using it the charge is still there when I get back. Any longer I don't know?

I do know the batteries made today are not as good?
