Reason why I asked was to avoid the dry cleaning bill. I would rather wash the duvet in my washer but cannot get the comforter in.. too big and bulky. Just wanted a big duvet because my comforter is large and puffy.. fiber fill. Heavy heavy heavy.

If you are still looking at this post, I just read it. I spent a half year in Europe in the 70s and was very familiar with duvet covers in the Zimmer Frei's we stayed at in Switzerland and Austria. They were bulky and lumpy and just luxurious! There is nothing like bundling up under a duvet covered feather tick with the Alps in view. I get the same feeling here in winter when the freezing temps arrive. We get ours on Amazon.
