I don't know what you ordered so don't know if mine is similar but I have had the stove-type model for about 3 years.  I have a sliding door where I watch TV and it has a dog door insert that is very drafty.  I've been using it every evening. I have a gas fireplace but like the Duraflame better.  It puts out a lot of warmth and is as mesmerizing as a real flame.  I can see people in warm climates loving this thing since you can enjoy the ambience of the flame without heat.  Run your AC and enjoy your fireplace.  Yes, youll undoubtedly love it!

My mother has three and loves them.  They do put out a lot of heat and the electric bill doesn't take a big hit.

I have at least 9 heaters, my favorite are the ones that look like lanterns, but I love the stove ones as well.

The TSV has the newer 3D flame technology and looks more like real flame than most of the older models. You will probably like that feature, anything to make it look more real is good.

The TSV has the infrared quartz heat, which heats a bigger area than the older style and while not a brand new feature, it is definitely an upgrade.

The TSV has the remote and some smaller models don't have that. The remote is great cause you don't have to get out of bed or off the couch to adjust things or turn on and off. Very handy.

Adjustable flame brightness, and ability to use just the flame look without the heat is nice for ambiance in the warmer weather. I find I often turn on just the flame on summer evenings for the atmosphere in the room, when I don't need heat.

This one appears to have a thermostat and a timer, something many of their offerings lately haven't had. I know a lot of people were requesting those features be brought back (I have it on one of my older heaters), and makes the heater more user friendly. You can set a temp, and it should go off when the room reaches that temp then come back on when the temp drops below. Or you can set it to run for just so many hours, then shut off. Again, much more user friendly.

I think this has great features for the price. Fully loaded with their options for under $100 is a great deal. I just don't like the style of the heater. It is too modern and straight lined for my tastes. I like the ones that look more like a real old stove.

I love all my heaters and wouldn't want to be without them anymore! Use them everyday during the colder months.

I think the color choices are bland, and the logs look too perfectly placed.  I think the one I’ve owned for the past 6 years is nicer.

Also, the top of the heater isn’t completely flat. It has a raised, bevel inset design which may limit what you can display on top of it.

Thank you all for the responses.  I was sure I had good things about the Duraflame stove-type heaters on here before.

The temperature setting and the style were the two key  things for me.  The heater unit being at the bottom but yet up a little from the floor I thought was a good design for my purposes.  The one corner of the living room where we sit is the coldest corner of the house so I'm hoping this really does pump out the heat LOL.

I have last year's model and love it! I use it in our sunroom -- we have HVAC there but in the winter it's just not enough heat. So, with this heater I can sit in the sunroom (20x20) early in the morning or in the evening and enjoy some cozy heat during the cold weather. The electric bill hasn't taken a noticeable hit. The flame effect is realistic and my model has the infrared unit at the top -- different from this year's model. I like how it cycles on and off depending on the preset temperature and it's pretty quiet.

We've been having some colder then normal temperatures here in DFW so I am enjoying the time with this heater!

Can you tell a difference in your electric bill, in other words does it pull a lot of electricity?   I love my natural gas heater, it's "almost" like having a fireplace.
