Wings were bestowed upon a friend of mine today...our loss here on earth is heaven's gain. I know she is already working with that tireless energy of hers to put things in order to help others. She battled on to fight pancreatic cancer for the past 2 years, we feared the outcome but all who knew her . . . knew. She was an author, a philanthropist, a mom and a grandmother, but most of all she was a loving human being who gave until it hurt. One of her favorite poems is attached.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. {{Hugs}}

She sounds like a wonderful person who will be very missed by many. Prayers to her loved ones who will need support with their loss. Hopefully there are some new treatments for pancreatic cancer on the horizon to help those suffering with it.

@We rescue cats  What a beautiful poem. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost a very dear friend seven years ago. Ovarian cancer. She fought the good fight for two years. I still miss her like it was yesterday, and think about her every day. Keep her in your heart and cherish your memories of her.❤🙏

Re: Drinking from my Saucer

[ Edited ]

I lost one of my very best friends with pancreatic cancer and then another very good church friend with the same.  The first one, at her husband's insistence, went to maybe the best teaching university where had massive surgery. She never had a good day after that. She was totally bedridden from that point on.

 The very good friend from church elected nothing but comfort measures. She lived almost 2 years and did anything and everything possible, up until the time when she required help driving, about 2 months before her demise. After she went to bed she asked no visitors at that point and we only knew when it was over from her children.

It's a bad cancer.  It takes some of the best.  May you have comfort in knowing she had a good life and felt good about helping others which is the best feeling any of us can ever have.

@We rescue cats   So sorry for your loss.  2 friends passed from pancreatic cancer.  One suffered a few years.  He was so close to retirement, it broke my heart.  Near the end, he called to say goodbye.  It was one of the toughest calls I ever had.  He was so strong and courageous.

My friends husband was diagnosed, and passed in less than 45 days from his first days of feeling ill.  It was so sad.  It's a terrible disease.

Thinking of you.  The poem is very nice.  Thanks for sharing.  May your friend rest in peace.
