Even though I'm not a fan of drapes, I do like the room beyond them.  Not so much the formality of it, but the brightness & furnishings.  Remove the chandelier & I'd like it better.  I'd also add a soft color area rug to break up the neutrals used.  Looks like through the windows, there appears to be a nice view?

@sceniccoast

I have that same chandelier in my dining room.

The room is lovely but the unnecessary drapes look out of place..definitely not for me.

This look just doesn't do anything for me.

@jubilant

I like the room, but I'm not a fan of the drapes at the entrance of the room.

Re: Draped Gateway To The Next Room

I have seen the use of wonderful, antique, wool blankets used between rooms.  Have to have just the right house and style.

Always wanted to try it.

@Nonametoday

No offense was intended on my part.  I've often posted that my style is very casual & I'm not much of a fan of chandeliers, nor drapes.

Just my personal opinion.

Oh, that's fine.  No offense was taken.  I just made mention of the fact that my DR (not my public space, living room/great room) had that chandelier, but my DR.  We're good.  I thought nothing of it.
