Re: Dr. Oz Investigation; Scented Candles

I used to burn lots of scented candles until I got my canary.  Every book and bird forum I looked at said you should not have them in your home if you have a bird.  They said the essential oils that manufacturers put in them can be very toxic.

My guinea pig forum also warns about scented candles and the various items that you plug in to scent the air.  They do not recommend them if you have small pets.

After reading all of that I decided that perhaps the scented candles were not all that safe to burn even if you do not have birds.

I now stick exclusively to the unscented flameless candles.

Re: Dr. Oz Investigation; Scented Candles

I love and have used scented candles for years, along with tarts.....However now I only use 100% Soy Candles, as my husband and I found that we had to paint way too often when using non-soy candles........We love candles and burn them often and have never had a problem, we prefer lighter, softer scents, not ones that hit you in the face the minute you walk through the door.........Dr Oz exaggerates so much, I hardly ever watch his shows anymore!
