Re: Don't Throw Away Those Old Doors

[ Edited ]

In New Mexico, old carved doors from Spanish colonial homes are coveted and worth a small fortune.  I know of a business in Santa Fe where they have dozens of them on display for sale.

I like the room enclosed by the windows but not around small children.  Can you imagine a toddler on a tricycle?

The hanging doors enclosing an office:

. Window cleaning nightmare

. Safety hazard on exiting the office

Why?  No different than going through French doors.

I guess it serves the purpose of making a space more like a room without closing if off with solid walls. I’m not really into distressed furnishings so it’s not something I would do. I don’t like the hanging chains or the blue box-like floor.

Conceptually, I like this. But truthfully I am not into old, rugged looking furniture/decor. In my home I would want the doors to be new and painted either black or white.

Re: Don't Throw Away Those Old Doors

I agree the office/door setup is a gigantic safety hazard and nightmare to clean.  We have doors like than into our office and bedroom, and I'm not wild about cleaning them, but they are secure, and I've haver considered them a safety hazard.
