I keep a small bin in my closet and when I put on something that I'm not crazy about, and feel I won't want to wear again, I place it in the bin immediately so I don't forget that I no longer want that piece.

I also keep an on going box of items to donate.  I keep a box in my closet downstairs and already have a top in it that I no longer care for.  Actually I have two boxes and one is for non clothing items.  

I do love my clothes but do not need as many as I thought I did at one time.  I still work so I still wear a lot of what I do have but not all. 

I figure as long as my clothes stay within the closet boundaries and not stored in bins and stashed elsewhere then I am doing good.  I like to move things out every season I no longer care for.
